Approach in a Logo
As designers, we strive to create work that is meaningful and accessible.
In education, our goal is to help learners seek meaning in our complex world.
My approach intended to integrate three thinking frameworks: Systems Thinking, Universal Design for Learning, and Design Thinking, aiming to foster:
-
A holistic understanding of complexity
-
An empowering feedback loop between emotional needs and behaviors
-
A connection to the evolving context of a chosen problem area
My logo represents the fusion of these disciplines, highlighting their value and potential to co-create a better future.

The process of how the concept of a logo took shape by integrating three thinking frameworks.

The circle traditionally symbolizes the infinite and intangible, much like how Systems Thinking aids us in making sense of complexity.
In contrast, the square represents the tangible and measurable, which often aligns with our application of Design Thinking.
The space between these two shapes presents an opportunity for Universal Design for Learning, a framework aimed at promoting inclusion.
By merging the three, it serves to remind us :
-
Be eco-system centric
-
Be human & humanity-centered
-
Have inclusion in mind
as we navigate complexity, understand one another, and collaborate to co-create for positive impact.

The intricate geometric shapes connecting the two forms represent:
-
The need to consider various stakeholders and their relationships
-
The iterative nature of innovation
-
The significance of accessibility and usability throughout the process
As a logo, it symbolizes:
-
The various perspectives through which we can view the world
-
The diverse voices that deserve to be acknowledged
-
The numerous approaches required for effective problem-solving
In the ongoing balance between the abstract and the tangible, it is our responsibility to remain human and embody humanity.
